Mice

Although mice are not dangerous and tend to fear human presence more than anything, they can find your home particularly appealing during long, cold winter months. It is not uncommon for a family of mice to settle within the structure of a house in the fall, especially in attics.

A place you rarely go!

Once they are established, mice begin to search for food and reproduce. As time passes, the family quickly grows. Naturally, they will need food and water, which leads them to explore—and eventually find their way to what they consider a treasure: your pantry, or even better, the garbage bin under the sink.

Although it is not easy for them to move through ceilings and walls, they manage to do so, often following electrical wires or plumbing lines, eventually reaching their preferred destination: the kitchen.

Signs of mouse activity

Although relatively clever, mice leave droppings along their paths and contaminate kitchen surfaces and equipment with urine (utensils, pots, and shelves).

Be sure to thoroughly clean any contaminated surfaces with soapy water and wear gloves. These small pests can carry germs and bacteria that may be harmful to your health.
